It was a warm hug near the end.
It was coming home.
It was crawling into the open maw of the venus fly trap.
I laid myself down, curling up around the vines and the ticks and the flowers and the maggots.
They drank from my blood and whispered sweet things. 
The very soil that new life and decay once called to me.
The whispers went quiet, and I realized I had never experienced quiet before.
