For expert skiers and riders looking to push their limits, La Parva offers several designated freeride zones. These mid- and upper-mountain areas—marked in purple on the trail map—provide access to ungroomed terrain with a degree of resort maintenance and safety oversight.

Skiers and riders seeking steep moguls or powder conditions should be sure to explore these zones. Beyond them, some sections just outside the red and black trails can also offer excellent mogul and powder skiing when conditions allow.

To truly experience La Parva’s full potential, however, you'll want to explore the off-piste terrain. Several top-tier backcountry lines lie just beyond the resort boundary, including bowls and chutes that are accessible via traverses without requiring a hike. Additionally, a variety of hikeable lines and touring routes are accessible from inbounds trails, making La Parva a standout for those eager to earn their turns and reach unforgettable peaks.

That said, La Parva’s off-piste terrain is not maintained, patrolled, or marked by the resort, and serious avalanche risk exists. Those venturing into these areas must have a solid plan for both entry and exit, carry essential avalanche safety gear (beacon, shovel, and probe), and travel with a partner—or ideally, an experienced local guide—if unfamiliar with the terrain.
