There’s constant movement, pressure from behind, and players constantly changing direction. Scanning becomes a natural part of the game.⁠

Encourage and prompt children to check their shoulders with simple questions like:⁠
🗣️ “Who’s behind you?”⁠
🗣️ “Where are the taggers? Can you see them? Do you know where they are?”⁠
🗣️ “Can you spot where the taggers are without turning your whole body?”⁠

The habits formed in tag games over time help children scan more confidently. Those habits can transfer directly into match play.⁠
