One year ago, we camped high in the mountains to escape the summer heat. At sunrise, we slipped onto the lake and had it completely to ourselves—just golden mist and still water. ⁠ That same campground was hit hard by Hurricane Helen just months later and is still closed for repairs. Grateful we got to experience its magic when we did—and hopeful it’ll be back for more memories soon. This moment means even more now—and it just might get featured on a magazine cover.
