Were the benefits of being my College Mascot worth it? During my 5 years being the University Mascot for UTD, I had 3 years (mostly due to COVID) where I was the ONLY mascot. During my senior year, I did bring on another teammate. As a D3 student-athlete, you CANT be paid (though since Mascot isnt under NCAA an exception could be made if the college deemed so). Did I feel the benefits weren’t worth it? Absolutely not. I loved Temoc so much, that being able to grow his personality and creating a legacy for him felt priceless. Definitely on the more “marketing” responsibilities I took on (ie. Running the mascot social media + TikTok page) I felt could have been paid benefits for, but I was able to gain a lot of experience doing it and again did it through passion. #mascotreveal #mascot #collegemascot #utdallas #utd
