F1 MOVIE REVIEW 🍿

Finally got the chance to go on a date night with Emily to see F1 the movie last night. In short, overall, I really enjoyed it, and you all who had so much negativity toward it for so many years, are a bunch of salty peanuts. Live a little. 

Emily’s review : “It was exciting to feel the speed, danger and emotion behind the sport on the big screen. The storyline kept me on my toes, and I found myself watching with unexpected laughs and tears.“ 

My review : “IT’S. NOT. A. DOCUMENTARY. It was never meant to be. It’s meant to get a whole bunch of people that know f*ck all about F1 as a sport, jazzed up and interested in it, and from reading random comments on threads that the algorithm throws me, it worked. It was a great postcard to show the drama and passion of a sport many of us love. 

Looking back on all the discourse from some of you, I don’t really understand the anger. Of course there were details I could pick apart all day long. More details than you, as a die hard fan, will ever see or notice. But it was a fun summer movie. I laughed a few times, smiled a lot…and the racing scenes were genuinely incredible. It was really fun to see IMSA on the big screen in those opening scenes. To see my friends and colleagues feature on the big screen. To see my wrightrac1ng brothers in action (feat plmotorsport). I have LOVED photographing that Chip Hart Racing blue Peak / Geico Porsche 911 over the last year and a half. 

Overall, I thought the story line was far fetched but fun at the same time. I get it. I get where they were going with it. It would never happen today in F1. But you know what, WHO CARES?! It’s a movie. A Hollywood movie. 

Overall. Definitely worth seeing (on the big screen)
