💎 State Parks are total gems! So many great trails and hiking, camping, boating, special programs, and some have yurts, cabins, and beaches

📍Virginia currently has 43 state parks and these are among my favs:

1) Belle Isle (great primitive camping & hiking)
2) Grayson Highlands (wild ponies & highest elevation in the state, views are spectacular, hiking, backpacking)
3) Breaks Interstate (1 of 2 bistate parks in US, incredible overlooks, zip lining, cabins, cottages, camping)
4) Hungry Mother (Mollys Knob hike, yurts, camping)
5) Shenandoah River (blue bonnets along river trail, cabins, mountain views)
6) Leesylvania (Potomac Riverfront, trails)
7) Natural Tunnel (chair lift ride, natural tunnel, camping)
8) First Landing (most visited park & beach, tons of campsites)
9) Kiptopeake (Chesapeake Bay, beaches, hiking, kayaking to concrete ghost ships)
10) False Cape (most remote park, great backpacking trip, tons of wildlife)
11) Natural Bridge (215 foot natural bridge once owned by Thomas Jefferson, hiking)
12) Caledon (beautiful mature forest with big trees, primitive camping, beautiful hiking trails)
