🥾 550 miles of trails throughout the park to waterfalls, mountain summits, and rocky outcropping view points
🚙 drive 100 miles of Skyline Drive right through the park with east and west facing pull off overlooks to take in sunrise and sunset views
🎒 the Appalachian Trail runs through the park
🏠 clubpatc has primitive hike in cabins for rent
⛺️ back country camping permits allow you to camp off grid 
🏡 There are cabin rentals, RV camping, and tent camping at the 5 campgrounds in the park 
🦌 keep your eyes out for wildlife including deer, turkey, and bald eagles 

📌 Grayson Highlands & Mount Rogers Recreational Area 
🐎 You can find wild  ponies throughout both of these areas while out on a day hike or multiday hike 
⛰️ The highest elevation in the state can be found here at Mt Rogers, Wilburn Ridge, Big Pinnacle, Little Pinnacle, and Pine Mountain (all over 5,000 feet)
☀️some of my favorite views in the state of Virginia are in the highlands

💧55,000 acre lake 
🛶 boating, swimming, fishing
⛺️ waterfront tent and RV camping available at several campground in the area including Occonechee State Park
