## Caption

Poetry asks to be spoken aloud, for its assonance and rhythms to be enjoyed by the ear, to be given life by the voice in an attempt to deepen understanding.  

We recently marked the official renaming of our library after acclaimed Irish poet, Eavan Boland. This was a process that had our students, their voices and their values at its heart. In the spirit of this, we brought together those students studying Boland’s poetry to recite a verse from ‘Anna Liffey’ - a powerful and fitting ode to a new way forward. 

Continuing the celebrations of this momentous event in College history, @tcdlibrary and @poetryireland are hosting a very special reading of Boland’s poems - selected by Colm Tóibín and read on the night by a host of special guests. This free event will take place on Thursday 24th April at 7pm. Register via Eventbrite - link in bio.
