Blue Light Body Arts has been part of the Hays Main Street scene for the past 2.5 years, though some might remember it under its former name, Sore Loser. After a move and a rebrand, the shop took on a name inspired by local legend—the Blue Light Lady—as a nod to the owner’s Hays roots.

The studio stands out for its calm, respectful atmosphere—something the team is intentional about. “We try to set a higher standard in every part of what we do, from how we treat people to the quality of our work,” they shared. “We don’t really have the traditional ‘tattoo shop’ vibe, and we like it that way.”

With a strong focus on cleanliness and professionalism, Blue Light has built up a loyal following. “Most of the people we see—we see more than once,” they said. “The support we’ve gotten in Hays, especially since moving downtown, has been incredible.
