According to a news release from UAB Health System, it and United have reached an agreement on a new health insurance contract.

The statement comes after UAB informed its patients last month that it could not agree with United on reimbursement rates, in addition to continued complaints about excessive claim denials and delayed payments, and would therefore no longer be taking the insurance as of Aug. 1. 

In the statement sent July 31, UAB said both parties have agreed to a one-week period in which they will finalize the agreement.
