I grew up as a diaspora child in between cultures and traditions, feeling like I didn’t fully belong to either my Pakistani culture or my American culture. The last few years, I spent a lot of time learning (and creating) my own understanding of culture, and finding a place where I belong. This shoot really brought my vision to life, blending aspects of each culture to artistically portray the version of myself that I’m growing into.

This project was extra special bc everyone who worked on this shoot grew up in the same town together, and now we’re back 10+ years later, each of us owning our own businesses and collaborating in ways that our teenage selves would be so proud of 💕
