Social media companies are blocking wide-ranging content - including posts about the wars in Ukraine and Gaza - in an attempt to comply with the UK's new Online Safety Act.

Since the end of July, people in UK have been asked to confirm their age across a range of different platforms including social media.

The government said that it was up to platforms themselves to decide how to implement the requirements of their bill - but they must not "censor political debate".
