Happy Birthday Bill Burbridge aka Papa Elf! 

The Icelandic Elves have four special days. New Years Eve, Summer Solstice, Dec 24th (my mom’s birthday), and Jan 6th (My dad’s birthday & the 12th day of Christmas.) I believe this is why the Elves made themselves known to us while we were recording in Iceland. 

I make offerings to them on these days. I apologize for missing New Year’s Eve this time!  But I did catch it this morning right after midnight. I speak to them out loud and I do it respectfully. You might want to try it. Especially today.  Though any day is fine. 

Make it as nice as you can with what you have available. Thats vodka btw. And they love kind bud. And seriously, if you do this do not joke, be flippant or disrespectful. They’re Elves. Believe me you will pay and it won’t be subtle. 

Happy Birthday Bill Burbridge. Thank you for giving me life, a thirst to read and search like a detective, and a deep love for music. I know you said you didn’t believe in magic but you married my mom who is so obviously a good witch and you put the second most magic thing on earth first in your spiritual life. And that is music. Now that you are on the other side you know that I am right. Please say hi to Kofi, Col Bruce and Dr Barnette for me!
