## Caption

Founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the name Breguet became synonymous to innovations that continue to define modern horology—including the tourbillon, the Breguet hands and numerals, the Breguet overcoil, and a host of other technical achievements. To this day, it remains one of the most influential houses in horological history. 

The Breguet Empire seen here sold at #SothebysNewYork last June for $107,950. Commissioned by the family of the original owner, and features an exquisitely preserved hand-guillochéd dial.
