Save this Conundrum Hot Springs Trail Mini Guide🏔️🌼 
📍 Near Aspen, CO
🥾 17 miles round trip, ~2,800 ft gain 
🕐 Best as a 1-night backpacking trip 
📅 Permit required (opens in February on Recreation.gov)
🔁 20 campsites (lower # = closer to hot springs)
👥 Max 6 people per permit
🚫 No day-use permits needed, but it’s a tough day hike 

✅ What to Bring:
🧊 Warm layers (high altitude) 
🚰 Water filter (creek is your only source)
🐻 Bear canister required 
🥾 Trekking poles & water shoes (one creek crossing) 
🚽 WAG bag to pack out waste (they have some at the trailhead!) 

⚠️ Things to Know: 
🗓️ Best season: Late June–early Oct
⛈️ Start early to avoid afternoon storms 
🚙 Trailhead is ~20 min from Aspen (dirt road, passable by most cars)
🔥 No campfires allowed 
🐻 Wildlife is active! Store all scented items in a bear canister 
🏔️ Acclimate if you’re coming from low elevation (risk of altitude sickness)
