Protest isn’t a privilege. It’s a right. 

Malaysia’s Federal Court just struck down a law that made it a crime to organize peaceful protests without first notifying police. 

Citing a submission from #TrialWatch and our partner insta_suaram in the decision, the court recognized the law’s disproportionate restriction on freedom of expression. 

This is a major step forward for civil liberties in Malaysia—and a reminder that peaceful protest must be protected.
