A new report from CFJ’s #TrialWatch, chreaa_malawi, and uschumanrightsclinic reveals that Malawi’s justice system fails to see the survivor behind the accused. 

Agness is one of them. She warned authorities in #Malawi four times about her abusive partner. Nothing changed—until she was the one arrested. 

Her case is not an anomaly—it reflects a wider crisis. Malawi’s justice system  needs to address trauma and context when prosecuting survivors.
