A $120 million campus set to transform STEM and arts education broke ground Wednesday at the Tuscaloosa River Market, drawing community leaders to celebrate a new era for Alabama's youth.

Governor Kay Ivey, Nick and Terry Saban, and Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox joined in a symbolic shovel-in-dirt ceremony, marking the start of construction for the Saban Center. 

The Saban Center has taken more than five years to break ground, and weather permitting, will be completed by July 2027.
