The moment we've been waiting for. 🤩⁣
⁣
Jen Pawol makes her debut as the first female umpire to work a regular-season game in the major leagues during the Atlanta Braves’ faceoff against the Miami Marlins. ⚾️⁣⁣⁣
⁣
The New Jersey native, who played college softball and got her start at an MLB Umpire Camp, made her much-anticipated debut as the first base umpire for Saturday’s first game of a split doubleheader between the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins. 🧢⁣⁣⁣
⁣
She already made waves earlier this year as the first woman in 17 years to work MLB spring training, and now she’s shattered one of baseball’s longest-standing gender barriers. 💪⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
We LOVE to see it. 🫡 #thegist⁣
