I always said I would only get a tattoo if it meant something to me. Something that would be meaningful, for the rest of time, no matter what. 

My first tattoo, after my divorce, totally satisfied this criteria. The word “brother” in Italian (“fratello”) to signify the most important relationship in my life with my sister tcenaa , a relationship that will matter to me forever ❤ 

The saying, “amor fati” was first told to me by my bestie prakruti_ while we were traveling together. This was over a year ago, and I immediately said to her, if I ever get a second tattoo, it will be this saying. Amor Fati (also the name of the thewhitelotus Season 3 Finale episode) means to love your fate. It tells you to embrace your good fortune, but also the bad. They are both necessary. It’s easy to love the good things that happen to you, but far more challenging to love the rejections, failures, drawbacks, and setbacks. As someone who loves fate and luck, but also as someone who has faced the door being slammed in his face over and over and over, this tattoo is a reminder to myself to always love my circumstances and remind myself that whenever one door closes, it closed for a reason.

I decided to get this second tattoo in Vegas at the same location as my first. So always remember, amor fati, love your fate no matter what it may be.
