Did you know that the first official Civic Holiday was introduced in Toronto, Ontario in 1869? 🇨🇦

Deemed a "day of recreation" for citizens to relax and enjoy a mid-summer holiday, initially it took place in September before it was officially moved to the first Monday of August in 1875. #DYK
