yes, i took a hockey book to my first nhl game. are you surprised? but oh boy, i did not expect to love this one as much as i did. 

i'm currently on a hockey streak, reading all the hockey books i can get my hands on, and this is one of my favorites. i'm a sucker for an underdog story, and oh boy, were the outlaws underdogs. It does get dark for a bit (tw for violence, mental & verbal abuse and eventual sexual abuse is spoken about as having happened previously,  but you don't see that on the page itself and not between the main couple of the book) so heed that going in. 

the romance was the perfect amount of mush for me, and i truly loved moogs and his shockingly low self-esteem. he's such a good guy, and i adored the way he and shea’s relationship developed. also, brody? i will protect that little guy with my LIFE.

i know i cry over everything, but i in no way expected to cry so much over a hockey book. this was just SO good and i loved it a lot.
