In 2014, documentary photographer dominicnahr traveled to Iraq with his Leica M9, where the Islamic State was killing, persecuting, and displacing Iraqi forces, Yazidis, Christians, and other minorities.⁣⁣

In the overcrowded refugee camps in the north, and in makeshift shelters that were often the only refuge left, Nahr spent hours with displaced families: Moving gently through their world, taking time for his images.⁣⁣
