Our last #SummerXMoody feature is a fun one! Public relations student Madison Frederick just got back from Lollapalooza 2025 in Chicago. Madison attended the festival as part of her internship with c3concerts. She worked four back-to-back days with 30,000+ steps a day! And she’d do it again in a heartbeat. Fun fact: Madison is an Austinite and has attended ACL Festival her entire life.

“I knew this internship would be an excellent fit for me because I’ve been working in the music industry (specifically guest services) for three years now at Moody Center and Stubb’s. So I was very excited to put everything I’ve been learning into practice at this internship. Now, with my C3 internship, I’m able to see the festival side of the industry, and I’m loving it! “

Madison has taken all the skills she’s learned in her txadpr classes and put them into practice at C3 Presents. She acts as a liaison between different entities, often working closely with marketing and PR to disseminate messaging to the public. This summer, she’s learned how important it is to implement a proactive strategy. “You can only be so reactive, especially with festivals. There is so much unseen preparation that goes into making these festivals happen and run smoothly. “

Of course, Madison’s favorite project was working on-site at Lollapalooza. She loved making the rounds on the festival grounds and seeing how peaceful that park was before gates opened. It gave her a moment to be present and really take it in. She’s also learned that it’s okay not to know everything all the time. “I hold such a high expectation for myself to be perfect, but the whole point of an internship is to learn new things and ask questions.”

As a music enthusiast, Madison’s go-to artists on repeat include Tyler the Creator, Neil Young, Earl Sweatshirt, and The Marias. She’s also enjoyed reading “Let Them” by Mel Robbins. Her favorite artist at Lollapalooza was Tyler the Creator! She loved hearing songs from his new album.

What’s next for Madison this fall? She’ll be continuing her internship with C3 and is looking forward to making fun marketing content for ACL Festival!
