Every time we went on a softball trip, my Dad would make it a point to pull over and explore something along the way.

At the time, they felt like small, even boring, detours.

We went to Abe Lincoln’s log house in Illinois, pulled over on the side on Route 66 for photos, learned to drive in a rental car in Iowa when we had an hour to spare & the list goes on.

Now, those are the memories I cherish forever.

So we stopped too.

Because one day, I think Rudi will look back and realize the little stops were actually the big moments. 💛
