📸 There’s a bold new lens coming to sfmoma. “Alejandro Cartagena: Ground Rules” opens this fall.

This first major retrospective of the acclaimed photographer (alexcartagenamex) brings together over two decades of work exploring suburban sprawl, the US-Mexico border, and economic inequality. Through documentary images, collage, vernacular photos, and AI-generated video, Cartagena prompts us to question the systems shaping our world.

Rooted in Mexico, relevant everywhere. Learn more at sfmoma.org.
