After graduating from Dexter Southfield, Liza DeCaprio ’21 dove into the world of sports management at Rice University. While excelling in the classroom, she managed social media for the baseball team and interned with both the PGA of America and the Houston Astros. Her hard work paid off, and Liza was honored with the 2025 Lindsay Roemmich Sport Management Achievement Award, which is given to an outstanding graduating senior in Rice’s Sport Management program.

Today, Liza is the Social Media Coordinator for the Astros—a role she’s thriving in. “The curriculum at Dexter Southfield was a huge help in getting me to where I am today,” says Liza. “The emphasis on grammar and public speaking prepared me to take on college classes with ease. This transferred to my internship experiences as well, and I am incredibly grateful.”
