Summer check-in on our online community and what we’ve been up to during the hiatus! 🗣️👀

In short, we’ve been just as busy as we were before the pause minus hosting “official events” for the public. We’ve been told to sit down and relax, butttt y’all should know that wasn’t going to happen so easily 😂

From book club events to vineyard tours to open-invite dinners and impromptu gatherings, our community continues to show up for each other in ways that can only be measured in love. When Free to Be was formed, it was imperative that connection happens authentically over time so real longterm friendship could form. Almost three years later we see that a pause in Free to Be facilitated events doesn’t stop activity amongst our network.

We’re forever proud and thankful to have a thriving community of friends that share oue values and make this movement so rewarding, enriching, and meaningful.

The executive board has been focusing on impactful ways to further engage with our local college communities, partnering with other regional nonprofits, and building internal structures to prepare for our official “return” coming in just a few short weeks! We’re excited to republish our free online community for you to tap into the Free to Be book club, engage in online activities, and meet the 800+ Black women and femmes that keep our world turning. Additionally, we’re excited to take a more active role in supporting other local initiatives, platforming our work, and brokering even more important resources to share with you.
