Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich announced on Thursday the launch of the 'E1' settlement plan, which is aimed at connecting East Jerusalem with the West Bank Israeli settlement of Ma'ale Adumim - a move he declared would “bury the idea of a Palestinian state.”⁣
⁣
"We will continue to build a satisfactory Jewish reality. This reality finally buries the idea of a Palestinian state, simply because there is nothing to recognise and no one to recognize," the finance minister said.⁣
⁣
By linking Ma'ale Adumim to Jerusalem, the plan would separate the southern West Bank from the north.⁣
