Continuing our celebration of interior design graduates, this week we are showcasing thesis projects by grads from the School of Interior Design at Toronto Metropolitan University torontomet , Allison Ho and Michelle Xu.

Remnants by Allison Ho and Michelle Xu 
Remnants is a short film that explores the architecture of memory, grief, and loss through the metaphor of a house as a memory palace. Navigating through intimate spaces and symbolic objects, the film follows a son's journey as he pieces together fragmented moments shared with his late mother. Through delicate, handcrafted visuals, Remnants offers a quiet portrayal of how we carry the traces of those we've lost.

Can you see me Now? by Allison Ho
Can you see me now? critiques the historical and ongoing dehumanization of women through the lens of concubines in Beijing's Forbidden City, using four architectural interventions and a mirror-back bronze labyrinth to transform trauma into spatial experience.
Set within the original concubine quarters, the work traces a concubine's descent—Selection, Objectification, Rejection, Obsession, and Disappearance—rendering their erasure in form not just to restore their voices, but to expose the systems that silenced them in the first place.
