On August 21, 2025, a Lucknow special court led by Judge Vivekanand Sharan Tripathi sentenced advocate Parmanand Gupta to life imprisonment and fined him ₹5.1 lakh for conspiring with a Dalit woman to file nearly a dozen false r@pe-related F!Rs and 18 court cases under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with additional convictions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for lying to public servants; the sentences will run consecutively.
