¿Cómo habría sido el jardín de Monet en la vida real? 
 
Claude Monet era un apasionado de las flores. De hecho, el artista decía que en parte esta pasión le inspiró a ser pintor. No sorprende, entonces, que la casa que alquilaba con su familia en Vétheuil, Francia, brillara con este jardín. Aquí lo puedes ver junto a sus otros amores, sus dos hijos, Jean y Michel. 
 
Cuando en 1878 Monet se mudó a Vétheuil, este jardín le sirvió de refugio cuando atravesaba momentos difíciles, tanto personales como profesionales. Su familia pasaba por problemas económicos y en 1879 falleció su esposa, Camille, con tan solo 32 años. En esta época el artista convirtió su jardín en un estudio, un espacio al que podía escapar. 
 
Años después, mientras el movimiento impresionista llegaba a su fin, Monet siguió pintando y encontrando paz en la naturaleza.

What would Monet’s garden have been like in real life? 
 
Monet had such a deep passion for flowers that he once said they were a big reason he became a painter. So it’s no surprise that he chose a house with such an incredible garden. Claude Monet painted this colorful garden outside the pink house he rented with his family in Vétheuil, just outside Paris. The scene captures three of Monet’s greatest loves: his sons Jean and Michel and, of course, flowers. 
 
While this painting is full of bright sunflowers and gladioli, it was created during one of the toughest times of Monet’s life. After moving to Vétheuil in 1878, his family faced economic hardship and, in 1979, he lost his wife Camille. Despite these challenges, Monet found solace in his garden, turning it into his personal studio and offering him a much-needed escape. 
 
Years later, as the impressionist movement started falling apart, Monet continued to paint and find peace in nature.
