Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t✨

It’s been almost a week since I became the first woman to skateboard across America, and I still haven’t fully processed it.

The truth is, I don’t feel any different, but I know the world might see me differently now. Over the past week, this journey has reached national news, and I’m reminded every day that it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible people who believed in this mission from the very beginning.

Who would have thought a skateboard could take me this far?

When I turned 16, everyone around me got cars. I couldn’t afford one, so I begged my mom for a longboard instead. I told her, “If you just buy me this, I can go anywhere.” At the time, it was the most expensive gift I had ever received, and I had no idea how much it would change my life.

I didn’t know that board would put me in a movie. I didn’t know it would put me in a commercial. I didn’t know it would give me the chance to inspire millions. All I knew was that I was just a girl looking for a faster way to explore her hometown.

That board gave me freedom. Skating gave me independence. And now, it has carried me across an entire country.

I’m beyond grateful for every single person who made this journey possible. To my family, friends, team and those who have stuck my by my side for the entire ride. To those who donated, who showed up at the finish line, who cheered me on from afar, and those who stopped me on the side of the road to give me the motivation to keep going, thank you. This would not have been possible without you.
