Sam Nicoresti has become the first transgender comedian to win Best Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival 🏳️‍🌈 

Their show ‘Baby Doomer’ is about growing up trans in 1990s Britain.

Nicoresti wins £10,000 in prize money and upon accepting the award, joked they had promised their partner the win a year ago to help pay for their upcoming wedding.

Nicoresti told the BBC: “Winning the award sure is swell, I'm super excited and stoked and jazzed. I did this for the queers making weird art, and it's a privilege to share this moment with the first all female line-up of award winners.”
