Jarquez Hunter was a Day 3 pick who stood out at Auburn with his violent one-cut style, contact balance, and big-play burst. He is not flashy, but he hits the hole hard, finishes runs with authority, and McVay has not been shy to praise the rookie RB.

In Los Angeles, his 2025 fantasy value likely depends on an injury in the running back room, but there is still a path to opportunity. Sean McVay has leaned more on the run in recent years, and while Kyren Williams has been productive enough to earn a big payday, the team wants to keep him fresh. Blake Corum should see work early as the RB2 behind Kyren Williams. However, the Rams traded up for Hunter, and his differentiating skillset has already led some analysts to believe he could pass Corum on the depth chart. Williams is the between-the-tackles workhorse, but he has had ball security issues outside. That is where Hunter comes in, built to turn the corner, protect the football, and either run through a defender or make him miss. If injuries hit or the Rams rotate more to protect Williams, Hunter could carve out meaningful snaps for the Rams.

From a fantasy perspective, Hunter is more of a dynasty stash than a 2025 flex option. Without injuries ahead of him, his role will likely be limited to spot carries and special teams. Still, his running style, ball security, and fit in McVay’s offense make him worth holding in deeper dynasty leagues, with the potential to produce if given a chance.
