Crispy Mackerel Balls | Would you believe this golden, crispy bite is made with mackerel? #ad #TinnedFish

Thanks to kingoscarseafood, these protein-packed crispy mackerel balls came together in minutes. Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside. The perfect app that’s indulgent, shareable, and secretly nourishing. Made with Royal Fillets of Mackerel in Olive Oil. With just three ingredients - they’re skinless, boneless, buttery and packed with clean protein.

Save this, and tag someone who should eat 10 of these before dinner!

Crispy Makerel Balls:
-2 cans King Oscar Mackerel
-1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
-1 eggs
-1 lemon, zested
-1/2 lemon, juiced
-4 tbsp chopped parsley
-4 tbsp chopped dill
-1.5 tbsp cappers, chopped
-1/2 shallot, finely minced
-2 garlic cloves, grated
-Salt & pepper

Breading:
-1 cup panko breadcrumbs
-Salt, to taste
-Pepper, to taste
-Smoked paprika, to taste

Lemon Herb Yogurt Sauce:
-1/2 cup Greek yogurt
-1 tbsp white wine vinegar
-1 to 2 tbsp chopped dill
-Salt & Pepper
-EVOO

Mix all the lemon herb yogurt sauce ingredients in a bowl, and set aside in the fridge.

Then in a mixing bowl, combine mackerel, panko, egg, lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley, dill, capers, shallot, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Mix until combined. If mixture feels too wet, add a spoonful extra of panko.

Form into 1½-inch balls and chill for 15–20 minutes (optional, but helps hold shape). Then roll each ball in panko to coat evenly.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat (about 350°F), and fry mackerel balls in batches, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy—about 6–8 minutes. Drain on paper towels or a wire rack. Serve hot and enjoy!
