Winchell Thoroughbred’s Magnitude takes on the Travers Stakes (G1) this Saturday for his grade 1 debut. 

The speedy son of taylormadefarm_’s Not This Time made a splash in the Feb. 15 Risen Star (G2), winning by 9 3/4 lengths, only to be knocked off the Triple Crown trail with a bone chip requiring surgery. After coming back strongly with a win in the Iowa Derby, he now faces dual classic winner Sovereignty in the Midsummer Derby. 

It becomes a question of speed vs. class.
