✨diary of a sober(curious) girl: cheers to a wedding weekend? ✨

This past weekend marked my first time “drinking” as I used to in the past in celebration of an amazing wedding weekend for one of my best girlfriends! It’s been a little over two months on this journey and I wanted to see comparatively how a weekend of responsible alcohol use would go… 

THE TAKEAWAYS:

⚡️ I want to have the relationship with alcohol that it’s a “drink to celebrate, NOT disassociate” kind of an experience. More thoughtful is key. 

⚡️ My stomach— she ain’t a fan still. Even with lots of water, food, and a responsible amount of wine by body was very unhappy and it resulted in bloating/inflammation, itchy skin, dry eyes etc. 

⚡️ THE SLEEP— well it was like “twilight” snoozing and not actual restful sleep. In this journey that’s been the most glaring example of how alcohol effects my system!

⚡️ My body/ mind has changed for the better after two + months on this journey and even what was once a normal weekend will now be something I do incredibly sparingly given how I feel. 

INCREDIBLE weekend, great insights into finding what’s optimal for me and looking forward to No-Drink November and more mock-tails and better sleep! 

The body is an AMAZING system and learning what serves it best has been so insightful and empowering.
