It’s different now. ⚡️

I no longer have a goal list, hopeful expectations or a even a vision board (yes that’s me saying that I know the irony)! 

Are there visions I have for my life and roles and experiences I hope are part of the path ahead? Deeply. There’s always been a fire in my belly, that undeniable gut instinct and big open bleeding heart I have learned over these years to trust. 

But this year, for maybe the first time ever, I’m really surrendering. No expectations, no “if I work hard enough, THIS will happen”, no conditional joy, no forcing when it’s not time and most of all no doubting when it’s not unfolding how I foolishly I “decided” some random day in my head. 

I couldn’t tell you what will happen next. And  maybe for the first time ever I’m so filled with gratitude that I DO NOT GET TO KNOW. I have learned to trust the seasons, the “strange gifts” often disguised as something seemingly awful and the renewal and transformation that always occurs with a little time, a lot of breath and a deep amount of surrender… aka keeping my faith. 

So here’s to the unknown. Here’s to no expectations and here’s to the surrender. We will always fight when we are called to and give our all every day (even on the days our “all” may be less than the days before). But it’s through that presence and a peace in knowing there’s something so much greater in control that we can trust in what will be. 

For 2023 I’ll share my great grandmothers last words to me: “you KEEP YOUR FAITH.” Well Grama D (who lived to be a 97 year old, dirty joke-telling, beautiful hand-holding, depression-era young window who made us fight her for her car keys…) you were exactly right. Now it’s time to live it. 🙏🤍⚡️
