Hey girlies todays video is me trying out the “crying makeup” that has been so trendy specifically on tiktok. I made mine more glam but this trend is actually really interesting to me and I think the reason it may be so trendy is because how many people can relate to it. Personally I cry a lot and over little things but a 2021 Harvard Youth Poll stated that more than half of young Americans said they had felt “down, depressed, or hopeless” in the past seven days. 
I also wonder if this look just became more popular because of the way the makeup is done and where else it is used. We’ve seen it on fashion runways, tv shows like Euphoria with Cassie, but also there is two East Asian makeup trends that involve lots of blush, glitter and the highlighting of the undereye for a more cherub look. These styles are called Douyin, and Ulzzang. It’s really hard to say where the root of this trendy makeup comes from because it could many things but it is fascinating to see how many connect with it.
