Tried something festive and fun for the Fourth! Crispy mashed potato stars made with @idahoanfoods Buttery Homestyle Mashed Potatoes 🥔🇺🇸

I made the mix, let the kids cut the shapes (messy, but worth it), and then fried them up golden and crispy.

Pro tip: when they help make it, they’re way more likely to eat it!

Real potatoes. Real easy. Gone in five minutes!

Quick recipe:

• Make Idahoan mashed potatoes

• Mix in shredded cheese, 1 egg, and red pepper - can also add bacon 🥓 

• Flatten mixture and freeze until firm

• Cut out stars with a cookie cutter

• Dredge in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs

• Fry until golden and crispy

Dip in some ketchup or sour cream and enjoy!
