Halloween Horror Nights 2007 was hosted at Universal Studios Hollywood. That year, Ringmaster Jack (Schmidt) summoned the “Carnage Killers”—Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface—to join him in unleashing chaos across the Universal Backlot. Although Jack served as the narrative’s primary antagonist, his role as an official Icon remains debatable, as he was largely absent from the marketing materials. Instead, the spotlight shifted to the Carnage Killers, who became the event’s central figures.

For the first time, both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida shared a unified theme: Jack’s twisted, nightmarish carnival. However, this thematic concept was far more pronounced in Orlando than in Hollywood. Notably, 2007 also marked the final year that Hollywood borrowed an Icon from Orlando, as Creative Director John Murdy chose not to continue using original characters he hadn’t personally developed.
