Can you spot the difference? These Chinook salmon eggs, collected at Livingston Stone National Fish Hatchery in California, have reached the “eyed” stage which means time for a little egg-sorting magic! 🪄🐟

See the white ones? Those are dead eggs, and they’ve got to go! Removing them helps keep the healthy eggs thriving. It’s like a strangely satisfying (and slightly squishy) game of “find the odd egg out.”
