A dramatic police chase on I-96 in Livonia ended with a stolen car losing its rear axle after officers deployed a grappling device to bring the vehicle to a stop. 

The incident, which occurred on Thursday morning, was captured by the Livonia Police Department's dashcam video.

Police spotted the stolen vehicle and used the Grappler, a device that deploys a high-strength net around a car's rear axle, tethering it to the police vehicle.
