Huge congratulations to uom_womensrugbyunion 🏆
 
This year’s Oustanding Club Award winner at the University Rugby Awards 2024/25 has truly demonstrated excellence in all its activities. On the pitch, their 1XV won the Northern Conference Cup, while their 2XV has successfully recruited and retained new players through the ‘Intro to Rugby Programme’, which helps prepare them for success when they step onto the pitch. They’ve also supported the university’s concussion testing and physio services, enabling members to return to play safely after injury.
 
Off the pitch, UMWRFC has demonstrated a commitment to the values of the RFU through initiatives they have introduced, such as their weekly newsletter ‘Scrum Down,’ which showcases the club’s activities, running regular sober socials to include all members, and recycling old sports kit through crafting activities.
 
The club has also had an impact on the wider community, fundraising for Didsbury Toc H Football Club, which was damaged in the New Year’s Floods.
