“How do I find the motivation to practice?” What I’ve noticed is that the people who stay consistent aren’t relying on motivation. They’re not more disciplined or superhuman🌱They just treat their practice like a necessity.

When something is a necessity, you don’t need to be motivated—you’ve already decided it matters. And when I’ve been the most consistent in my practice, it’s because I’ve done the same. That shift has changed everything. Everyone’s different, but here’s what’s actually helped me:

✔️ Stop comparing your practice to the past
When I practiced every day, I didn’t have the same responsibilities I do now at yogawithaligned Holding yourself to a past version of your practice just adds pressure. Your life has changed—your practice should too.

✔️ Drop the all-or-nothing mentality
There were years I thought anything under 60 minutes didn’t “count.” Now? If I have 10 minutes, I stretch on the floor, meditate on the couch, or sit quietly in my car.

✔️ Build an accountability system
That means taking responsibility and making it easier to follow through. Take the decision-making out of it. I practice with debbiekimwellness twice a week.

✔️ Attach it to something you already do
Habit stacking works—pair your practice with a habit you already have. For me, that’s my midday “healthy hour”—I drink my supplements right before class at we.love.camp

✔️ Remind yourself why you show up
Whether before or after, always come back to your why. It’s not about checking a box. It’s about what your body and mind need that day. Ask yourself: What did this give me? That’s the part to hold on to. And it’s what I find helps the most.

Yoga can be beautiful and inspiring. It can also be messy, inconvenient, and the exact opposite of what you pictured. And that’s not just okay—that’s the whole point. That’s the journey.

If your practice is in a weird phase, you’re not alone. Sending love❤️
