But seriously, when was it? 😵‍💫 There’s nothing like life’s little reminders to make you look in the mirror and think about age. I’ve had a few of those moments over the years – and dating is just one of them. But I’ve realized that age has always been a “thing” in my life. Back when I was 12 and started singing, I was “too young.” I had to call everyone my senior, and respect? That seemed to be reserved for those who’d been around longer.

Then, I became a young mom when I had my daughter, Taylor – one of the greatest gifts of my life. But it wasn’t without its own set of challenges. I remember talking to other parents and hearing, “Oh, you’re so young!” Even when I had my son Sydney in my 30s, I was still getting those “you’re so young” comments. Now, people don’t say that as much, and it got me wondering…was I ever just the “right” age? Too young for most of my life, and now…older? It’s funny how that works.

Of course, I’ve felt that little tug of frustration. When was I ever the “right” age? But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that all of this is just outside noise. And when I tune it out, I feel the best I’ve ever felt. I’m 41, and I feel incredible. So whether someone says I’m “still so young” or that they can’t believe I’m 41 (as if I’ve just entered an ancient era), none of it matters.

What matters is how I feel, and I feel freaking amazing.
