A standing ovation for Korean cinema at the Venice International Film Festival (labiennale) 👏🇰🇷

Park Chan-wook’s (pcwpcwpic ) latest film “No Other Choice”—starring Lee Byung-hun (byunghun0712) and Son Ye-jin (yejinhand)—made its world premiere in Venice.

Based on Donald Westlake’s The Axe, the film follows “Man-soo” (byunghun0712), an unemployed father who prepares for his own war to protect his family.

After the credits rolled, the audience gave a nine-minute standing ovation.

Could this be another work that not only makes history in Korean cinema, but also leaves its mark on world cinema? We can’t wait to find out 👀
