As we continue to celebrate #UNC25, hear from #UNCgrad McKenna Martin about a few of her favorite moments at Carolina. 

🎓 McKenna is from Chesapeake, Virginia. This May, she received her master’s in media and communication from unchussman. 

🐏 A highlight of her Carolina experience was walking the same path her grandfather did 64 years ago, when he earned his masters from #UNC. “He was the heart of what it means to be a Tar Heel, and knowing that my brother and I are now part of that legacy fills me with deep pride and connection to this place we all love.”

💬 McKenna’s advice to Tar Heels is to not be afraid to try and fail. “Some of the most powerful lessons in life come from the moments that don’t go as planned. I would not be where I am today if there weren’t a few roadblocks along the way.”

🩵 After graduating, McKenna will miss Carolina Coffee Shop’s vanilla latte with oatmilk. “The best latte you can find anywhere near campus!”

👣 When asked how she imagines her Heelprint at Carolina, she said, “I hope my legacy is rooted in uplifting future communicators, whether through my time as a TA for Intro to PR and Advertising at UNC Hussman or by showing up to every class with curiosity and heart. Carolina gave me the foundation to launch my marketing career at butterballturkey, and I hope to be a resource and cheerleader for the future marketers who walk the halls of Carroll Hall after me.”
